September attendances up across the board

By Ian Townsend

North Division leads the way

Whilst our overall attendances for the season are down, mainly as a result of us playing fewer matches- 291 in August/September 2018 as opposed to 322 during the same period last year- the news is otherwise extremely positive in our attendance focus, with increases across the board.

The Premier Division saw a 5.2% rise as compared with September last year, whilst the North Division did even better, with a 13.8& rise- that's almost 16% up if we look at August and September together. The South East Division is up by 0.5%, whilst of course we don't have any South Central Division statistics to compare, given it didn't exist last season!

Looking now at growth, some of our clubs have exceptional figures (although these must obviously be somewhat tempered by the fact that many have had only four home fixtures!). Best of the bunch are Maldon & Tiptree, who have seen a rise of 120% on last seasons average, whilst FC Romania have a 92% increase, Bowers and Pitsea an 83% increase, and Ware a 79% rise. Making it three out of five for the South Central Division in that particular league table, Waltham Abbey have seen their gates up by 68%.

Here's a growth top five for each division:

  • Haringey Borough 66%
  • Dorking Wanderers 65.5%
  • Potters Bar Town 58%
  • Worthing 56%
  • Harlow Town 43%
