Shock as McFarlane leaves the Urchins

Long-serving manager resigns at AFC Hornchurch

AFC Hornchurch have announced that Jim McFarlane, manager at Bridge Avenue for more than a decade, has resigned from his post. In an emotional statement, which you can read in full here, Chairman Alex Sharp pays tribute to McFarlane, saying:

"It is very difficult to put into words how much respect and love we at the club have for Jim and knowing how much this club means to him makes us realise how difficult a decision this will have been, we are forever grateful for everything he has done for us, getting us to where we are today and setting the
standard for non-league football managers across the country."

Colin McBride will take temporary charge as the club begin their search for a replacement for a man who many will view as irreplaceable- and Colin will lead that search, so any applicants should contact him on 07947 004991 or via kpa@mail2world.com.
