Short extends his stay

Russell Short has become the latest player to sign on for Bury Town's new Ryman League campaign.

The Premier Division's Blues say they are 'delighted' the defender is staying put at Ram Meadow. Director of Football Trevor Collins called the news a 'big boost' for manager Richard Wilkins as he prepares a squad capable of building on last season's seventh place finish.

Collins said: "Shorty has been with the club for a few years now and has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the league. We are still in pursuit and confident of adding an additional three players but the news of Shorty's decision is another big boost for next season."

Short, a former Academy star at Ipswich Town, joined the club in January 2009. He was previously with Wivenhoe Town and Histon and recovered from a broken leg two years ago to reclaim his place in Bury's side.
