Shrimpers chance for defender Bouamrane

Maldon & Tiptree central defender Youcef Bouamrane is on trial at League Two Southend United.

The French-born Algerian, pictured, has made nine starts for the Ryman North Jammers and manager Alan Kimble since signing from VCD Athletic.

Bouamrane played an hour in Southend's friendly against Brighton & Hove Albion this week, helping the Shrimpers keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw.

Another player who has definitely left the Wallace Binder Ground is midfielder Simon Glover. The Jammers announced on Wednesday he made the switch to Ryman Premier Canvey Island.
