After finally equalling Danny Benstock’s goalscoring record of 67 since the club reformed in 1992 when he found the net in Romford's 4-1 win over Wroxham, the forward, pictured, is hoping to go one better next Wednesday night when Paul Martin's side host landlords Thurrock at Ship Lane.
Reynolds, who failed to find the net in last Tuesday night's 3-2 win at VCD Athletic when he had an effort ruled out and again in Saturday's 1-0 win at Heybridge Swifts, wants to add to his seven goals in 14 appearances before Romford's final fixture of 2016 at Phoenix Sports on New Year's Eve.
He told the Romford Recorder: “I was relieved to have equalled the record as it has been talked about for a while now and I felt it was hanging over me a bit. I’m happy to have finally got a run of games and a few goals and I don’t want it to stop there. The aim is to now break the record and push on for 20 goals in the second half of the season."
He added: “If you actually look at how many starts I’ve had this season, I don’t think my goals tally is too bad.”
