Stadium deal getting closer

Grays Athletic are looking forward to updating supporters in the New Year on the Ryman Premier club's latest plans to secure a new home.

The Blues - currently plying their trade at Aveley’s Mill Field - announced at the weekend that plans to return to Grays have taken a step forward.

Earlier this year the club announced that funds were in place for a new stadium and in a statement, officials said details of the planned location and the partners involved in the project would be revealed in January.

The statement said: “Grays Athletic Football Club is pleased to announce that today the plans to relocate Grays Athletic have taken a step forward.

"Details of the planned location and partners involved in the project will be announced as soon as possible in the New Year following further key meetings in January.

“The Council have been advised of the progress we have made. We do hope that all our supporters will understand the sensitivity of such discussions and therefore the club will make no further announcement until the New Year.”
