Maidstone United's young stars have won the Ryman U21 League South Division championship for the second successive season.

After winning last season's inaugural championship, pictured, the Stones clinched the title again in style at the Gallagher Stadium on Monday night, beating Lewes 4-0.

United's U21s only needed a point to take the title after beating the Rooks, the only side still capable of catching them, 1-0 in Sussex last week.

The champions, 15 points ahead of current runners-up Faversham who still have two games to play and 20 in front of Lewes with five to go, will round off their league campaign on Thursday night when they travel to Burgess Hill Town.

Alfie Kitt broke the deadlock four minutes before half-time before second half goals from Billy Parkinson with two and Jack Jeffrey, secured all three points and the championship.

* United's U21s and other members of the club's academy set-up enjoyed being trained by Teddy Sheringham last Monday.

The former Millwall, Tottenham, Man United and West Ham striker took a coaching session at the club as part of his UEFA A Licence coaching badge before meeting club chief executive Bill Williams.
