A DOUBLE by Alex Flisher helped Maidstone extend their lead in Ryman South to six points with a 3-1 win at Corinthian-Casuals tonight (Tuesday).

Ian Draycott opened the scoring after eight minutes and Flisher added two in seven minutes early in the second half. Steve Goddard replied for Casuals with 14 minutes to go. (Action from the game pictured by Andy Nunn).

Fourth-placed Faversham suffered a setback when they went down 1-0 at Walton & Hersham, only their second away defeat. Graeme Purdy scored the only goal of the game for the second time in four days, a 25th-minute penalty.

Sittingbourne, in fifth place, could only draw 2-2 at Home to Herne Bay after taking a 2-0 lead. Ryan Cooper’s third-minute strike gave the Brickies a good start and Joe Taylor added another on 26 minutes.

Tunji Abgajae pulled one back with 20 minutes left and Sam Bewick’s penalty levelled it two minutes later. The visitors had Tom Bryant sent off near the end.
