Lowestoft Town striker Jack Defty has been ruled out for the rest of the Ryman Premier campaign.

Defty, pictured, has been side-lined with a broken leg since the final weeks of last season when he was injured playing at Bury. On Thursday night the Trawlerboys announced that after going for an X-ray and hoping for positive news, the 32-year-old former King's Lynn Town frontman was told by specialists that he shouldn't play for the remainder of the season.

Trawlerboys spokesman Terry Bullen said: "Jack has been told that even though his injury is healing well, he's been advised to leave it for another six months. Everyone at Lowestoft Town fully supports Jack in his continued rehabilitation and look forward to seeing him back in a blue shirt."
