Suds send winger out on loan

AFC Sudbury have sent wide man Jamie Speller out on loan to Eastern Counties League outfit Norwich United.

Speller, 20, joined the Ryman North's Yellows at the start of the season but will spend the next three months on loan as manager David Batch wants to give the young winger more game time to boost his overall confidence levels.

Batch said: "Jamie scored ten or so goals at this level last year, after stepping up three leagues in the space of the previous twelve months. He is still only young and hasn’t had the immediate impact that he would’ve hoped offensively.

"His work rate and ethic for the team have been at the usual standard but he needs to go and score some goals and get some crosses in to help him gain that confidence again."

Batch added: "We have other options in that area of the pitch so I see no sense in him getting the odd 20 minutes here and there when we can push others on. He is unable to play in our reserve or U21s as he is under contract, so it makes sense."
