Enfield Town are looking forward to one of London’s top rugby league clubs moving in with them this summer.

The Ryman Premier’s Towners have announced that the London Skolars are to play six games at Donkey Lane over the summer while their New River Stadium home is refurbished with a new 4G pitch and floodlights.

Enfield’s 2,500 capacity Queen Elizabeth II Stadium, pictured, has undergone a major refurbishment and is just five mile away from the home of the London Skolars who believe it is an ideal venue to stage their home fixtures in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Skolars General Manager Howard Kramer led the search for a temporary new home and said: "Enfield, which is exactly five miles from New River, provides first class facilities, not only for the teams playing their but just as importantly, the spectators too.

"We have been made to feel most welcome by Enfield Town who have shown great enthusiasm for rugby league to be played at their stadium and share our belief that an opportunity exists to reach a wider audience."

Enfield’s delighted officials say the agreement between the clubs has been developed around their summer pitch maintenance programme and will not impact on manager George Borg’s pre-season preparations.

Enfield Town Chairman Paul Millington said: "I am delighted to welcome London Skolars to the QEII Stadium. I am sure their players, officials and fans will enjoy their time here and that many of our fans will be looking forward to supporting the Skolars during the summer."
