Harlow Town's players, officials and supporters are wishing Sam Holloway a speedy recovery after he suffered a double leg break in the club's Ryman North clash at Thurrock on Saturday.

Play was halted in their 2-1 defeat at Ship Lane for more than an hour after the defender, pictured, suffered a broken Fibia and Tibia 37 minutes into the game.

After being treated by medics at the ground, the 27-year-old was rushed to Basildon Hospital where the double break was confirmed.

Holloway, who signed for the the Hawks in December after being released by Heybridge Swifts, faces an operation on Sunday.

In a statement released on Saturday night, worried club officials promised to keep supporters updated after speaking to his father, Redbridge secretary Bob Holloway.

The Hawks said: "We would like to wish Sam Holloway a speedy recovery after a horrific double leg break at Thurrock. We shall do our very best to keep everyone informed of any further developments.

"Club secretary Ray Dyer spoke to Sam's father Bob Holloway on Saturday evening and was told Sam was comfortable and would be kept in overnight with his leg in plaster and that they would then operate on Sunday."

Holloway started the season at Thurrock before moving to Heybridge Swifts. He has also seen service at Redbridge.
