Max, understandably, chooses three of his local heroes- and indeed all of his choices come from our top five. Perhaps more surprisingly, he sets local rivalries aside and selects Maldon and Tiptree players as half of his defence. Take a look at his choices, and see what you think.
Goalkeeper:
Chris Haigh (Heybridge Swifts) The Swifts stopper was instrumental in our playoff win.
Defenders:
George Allen (Coggeshall Town) His height made him a threat in both boxes.
Martyn Stokes (Bowers and Pitsea) A rock at the back for the League Champions .
Billy Roast (Maldon & Tiptree) Commanding and calm in every game I saw him play.
Matt Briggs (Maldon & Tiptree) A great defender as well as a threat on the wing. No surprise he was playing in the prem not so long ago!
Midfielders:
James Love (Aveley) Controls the midfield with ease.
Kreshnic Krasniqi (Heybridge Swifts) Shows such passion and work ethic in every game.
Quentin Monville (Bowers and Pitsea) The champions have a great winger in this lad. He runs at defenders all game long!
Evans Kouassi (Heybridge Swifts) : The Swifts winger goes on many runs for fun! A defender’s nightmare .
Forwards:
David Knight (Bowers & Pitsea) The division’s top goal scorer. Enough said.
Tom Richardson (Aveley) Shows great strength and hold up play.
If you don’t agree with Max’s choices, then let’s have yours! You can find the details you need by reading the article here. And if we get enough entries, then we’ll combine them and announce a Team of the Year for each Division during the first weekend of June.
