Survival specialist sets sights on new club record

After guiding his side to nine wins on the spin to put any lingering fears of relegation from the Ryman League to bed, Cray Wanderers manager Tommy Warrilow is targeting a new club record of ten consecutive victories on the final day of the season at Dereham Town.

The former Tonbridge Angels manager, appointed back in January as the successor to Gary Abbott with the Wands deep in trouble and second from bottom, completed what looked like a mission impossible in Ryman North last Sunday when his side romped to a 4-1 win over Tilbury at Hayes Lane.

The Wands haven't lost since losing 3-1 at home to leaders Needham Market in mid-March with last weekend's result lifting the club five points and four places clear of trouble with a game to go.

Warrilow, pictured, managed Tonbridge Angels for seven seasons and guided them to promotion into Conference South in 2011. As a player, he turned out in five games for the Wands during the 1997-98 season, scoring twice.
