Tanner enjoyed trip while skating on thin ice ...

After paying a visit to the Streatham Redskins to support their link-up with their local National Ice Hockey League side, Tooting & Mitcham United manager Craig Tanner won't mind seeing their neighbours in action again when next season's Ryman South campaign gets underway.

The Redskins, one of the oldest teams in British ice hockey having been founded back in 1932, have just finished their season in third place following the trip back in March by Tanner, pictured, and a delegation of Tooting & Mitcham United's management, officials and fans who saw them beat Oxford City Stars 6-0.

In the wrong half of the Ryman South table at the time of the visit to the Streatham Ice Rink Arena and still looking anxiously over their shoulders, the trip did the Terrors no harm either, kick-starting a run of good results.

Tanner, who stepped up to his first managerial post at the KNK Stadium in June 2013 and came through the youth ranks at the Terrors before moving on to play for Sutton United, Hampton & Richmond, Carshalton Athletic and Metropolitan Police, saw his side continue climbing away from trouble with a run of four draws and precious points gained before losing to a title-chasing Faversham Town side at Easter.

Tanner, whose own playing career was cut short by knee injury, was also invited to present the man of the match award before the Redskins attended his own side's 1-1 with Corinthian Casuals a week later as guests of the Terrors.

As one of the benefits of their partnership arrangement this season, season ticket holders and members of the neighbouring clubs enjoy half price admission to each other's games.
