Tooting & Mitcham United’s volunteers and officials have been given a massive pat on the back by one of London’s leading Lacrosse clubs.

Hillcroft Lacross Club has written to the Terrors to express their thanks for hosting and supporting them over the last three years, describing the Ryman South club’s efforts as being "instrumental" to their success.

Based in south west London for more than 40 years and originally based near the old home of the Terrors at Sandy Lane, Hillcroft LC field a number of mens and women’s sides with international players and are currently staging their summer league at the TNK Stadium.

Hillcroft’s head coach Henning Schmidt said: "Three years ago, we started working with TMUFC and things could not be better. TMUFC are a professionally and effectively run organisation, delivering a wide range of sports for all levels.

"For Lacrosse, their support and common sense driven approach has been instrumental in our success. Our club recently gained 'performance club' status and is the only Lacrosse club in the London area with this accreditation. We're not yet the most successful but we're best organised and set up.

"The latter is largely enabled by [chairman] Steve Adkins and his team at TMUFC. The time at TMUFC has been the best our club has had in a very long time. Personally, after over ten years in the game, I remain astonished by how much they help us to grow and prosper. We're very grateful to be where we are and fully appreciate how we got there."

Schmidt also confirmed that he was now looking forward to putting in place significant expansions plans for the sport at the home of the Terrors.

He added: "We're looking to expand to four men's and one women's team in the short run, followed by a mid term expansion into growing to Lacrosse as fitness focussed sport for women and as a new sport for youths, boys and girls, aged 15 and over.

"This will be complemented by running a range of qualification courses at TMUFC for coaches and officials, establishing TMUFC United as centre of excellence."
