Towners support young carers

Enfield go EPyIC and join the ECC!

Enfield Town FC have joined forces with a charity supporting young carers, offering an afternoon or evenings respite away from their caring responsibilities. The charity, Enfield Carers Centre (ECC) offers support and advice for all unpaid carers in the London Borough of Enfield (young people aged 5-18)through their Enfield's Young People in Caring project; children and young adults who have the burden of having to look after their parent or parents. Enfield Town- as well as staging a charity match between a Darren Purse XI and an Enfield Town XI which raised a four-figure sum- have now donated twenty season tickets to allow these young people to attend matches free of charge when their responsibilities allow.

Towners Chairman Paul Reed explained:

"It is heart-breaking to think of these young people who are having to care for their parents. One can only imagine the difficulties they and their families must face. We hope that our small gesture will enable those who like football to come along and enjoy an afternoon away from their life's pressures, supporting The Town."
