Three Wingate & Finchley stars are in training for next month's European Maccabi Games after being selected to represent Great Britain.

Proud officials at the Ryman Premier club have announced that goalkeeper Ross Weinrabe, U21 captain Joe Sharpe and wing-back Alex Davis will be among more than 2300 Jewish athletes from 36 countries heading to Germany for the tournament which runs from July 27 to August 5 in Berlin.

After taking place for the first time back in 1932 in Palestine before before being suspended during World War Two, the 14th running of the event will see competitors taking part in 19 sports at the German capital's Olympiapark.

While Davis is heading to the games for the first time, both Weinrabe and Sharpe have tournament experience after winning bronze medals at the World Games for U18s football in 2013. Sharpe also won U18s Futsal bronze in 2011 at the last European Maccabi Games in Vienna.
