Ryman League North Division

Maldon & Tiptree dropped two more points in the race to catch runaway Ryman North leaders VCD Athletic on Tuesday night when they were held to a 0-0 draw at Redbridge.

The Motormen have ambitions themselves and climbed to eighth with the victory which leaves them just three points behind their visitors after both sides failed to break the deadlock at the Oakside Stadium.

Burnham Ramblers got back to winning ways with a 3-2 home win over Thurrock in one of only three games played in Ryman North.

They were behind after 34 minutes to a Bradley Warner goal before Charlie Kirby equalised on 68 minutes. David Knight restored Thurrock's lead, and their ambitions of finishing the night in second spot, with 18 minutes to go before Nikki Beale on 80 minutes and Neil Richmond four minutes later, turned things around. The three points lifts them to 14th with Thurrock fifth.

AFC Sudbury did make the most of their chance to climb a few places by taking fourth spot with a 2-1 home win over Ware who remain third from bottom.

Ryan Henshaw sent Suds on their way to their fourth home success of the campaign on 22 minutes before Joe Reynolds equalised on the half hour mark. James Baker fired home the eventual winner on 72 minutes.
