Ryman League Premier Division

Kingstonian returned to the top of the Ryman Premier Division table on Tuesday night following a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over Metropolitan Police at Imber Court, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Recent signing Charlie Knight opened the scoring in the fifth minute from a free-kick and while the K's spurned a number of other chances, Andre McCollin did head home a second goal in the 40th minute.

Maidstone United are second after a 4-0 home drubbing of neighbours Thamesmead Town. A crowd of 1,517 saw defender Jerome Sobers put the Stones in front after less than two minutes. Zac Attwood doubled their advantage 10 minutes before the break and then Frannie Collin on 66 minutes and sub Fabio Saraiva two minutes from time, completed a comfortable night's work for the Stones.

A superb first half strike from Frankie Curley and a clinical finish from Stefan Payne ensured AFC Hornchurch returned to the Bridge with all three points at Enfield Town. Curley's effort came after 15 minutes and then Payne made sure with the second eight minutes from time.

A stunning free-kick from Kevin James after just two minutes and a late goal from Ian Daly four minutes from the end gave Dulwich Hamlet a win in the first of their back-to-back games with Margate.

Bognor Regis Town are seventh after taking full advantage of struggling visitors Cray Wanderers being reduced to ten-men just before half-time to win 4-0. The Rocks were already leading through Ben Johnson`s 10th minute effort when Gary Cook was dismissed a minute before the break. Ollie Pearce doubled Bognor's lead three minutes after the restart and three minutes later Dan Sackman increased the home side's lead. Harvey Whyte added a fourth three minutes after that to wrap up an impressive win.

For the second successive game, Harrow Borough came back from being behind, but this time it was to win rather than earn a share of the spoils at Maidstone last Saturday. Steve Butterworth gave Carshalton Athletic a ninth minute lead at Colston Avenue, but with 15 minutes remaining, Ronnel Dennis equalised from the spot. And a minute from time Jordan Berry won it for Dave Anderson's side.

Canvey Island got back to winning ways with a convincing 2-0 win at Leiston. The Gulls took the lead in the 21st minute through Harrison Chatting when the winger, starting his first game of the season, capitalised on Rio Bryan-Edwards knock down from Sheldon Sellears' free kick. It was a Sellears free-kick that gave Canvey their second goal on 58 minutes, this time delivering an excellent ball to the back post for Rob Bartley to thump home a powerful effort.

A 0-0 draw looked on the cards at Rookery Hill between East Thurrock United and Lowestoft Town. However, in injury-time at the end of the game, Curtis Haynes-Brown popped up with a winner for the Trawlerboys.

Hampton & Richmond Borough moved out of the bottom four after a 2-1 win at Wingate & Finchley, who replaced them. Charlie Moone was once again the Beavers` hero, bagging a quick-fire brace with goals in the 21st and 23rd minutes. Farai Hallam reduced the arrears in the 56th minute, but Hampton held on for the points.
