Ryman League Premier Division

Margate got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Kingstonian on Tuesday night to move to within two points of Ryman Premier leaders Maidstone United, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Two goals in three minutes were enough to give title-chasers Margate all three points at Hartsdown Park. Jamie Taylor opened the scoring after 34 minutes and a second from former K`s midfielder Lewis Taylor swiftly followed.

Metropolitan Police consolidated fifth spot with a 2-0 win at one of the teams just below them in the table, Wingate & Finchley.

Michael Charles gave Jim Cooper`s side a 27th minute lead. But it wasn`t until two minutes from time that the Met could really relax at the Harry Abrahams Stadium when Jack Knight bagged their second.

The only other Premier Division game on Tuesday ended goalless between Bognor Regis Town and Tonbridge Angels at Nyewood Lane.
