Crawley Down Gatwick matched Sussex neighbours Hastings United on Tuesday night to become the only other side to win their opening two games to the new Ryman South campaign, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Downers won 1-0 at the Belmont Ground against Whistable Town, thanks to a 68th minute Liam Wright effort.

Both Folkestone Invicta and Walton & Hersham went nap on Tuesday after putting on a show for fans with the new season only a few days old.

Invicta eased past Kent rivals Sittingbourne at the Buzzlines Stadium, netting five without reply with Dane Luchford the hero – netting four of them – including three in the second half. Ter Horst got in on the act with the fifth five minutes from time.

The Swans saw off Burgess Hill Town, who at least managed to score once with Darren Budd equalising Will Turl's 15th minute opener four minutes later. After an even first-half ended 1-1, the Swans romped home in the second with Turl completing a hat-trick and Greg Ngeno and Juan Onieva also scoring.

Hythe Town edged the Kent derby at Faversham Town`s Shepherd Neame Stadium by the odd goal in five. Wayne Wilson gave the hosts a 14th minute lead that Dave Cook cancelled out four minutes later. Cook then grabbed his second on 36 minutes and Ronnie Dolan added a third on 69 before Brendan Cass pulled a second back for the hosts 18 minutes from time.

Newly-promoted Peacehaven & Telscombe are still unbeaten after earning a first win in the Ryman in convincing fashion – a 4-0 victory at Woodside Road over Worthing. Charlie Walker gave the visitors a 32nd minute lead from the spot and Tom Burton added a second seven minutes later. Tom Lawley made it 3-0 after 57 minutes, with Trevor McCreadie netting a fourth in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, Tooting & Mitcham United and Herne Bay shared a goalless draw in south London while Chipstead won 3-1 at Jubilee Field against Three Bridges, whose Ashley Bertrand-Kesington gave them a 24th minute lead. Dan Moody levelled from the spot just before the break and then 10 minutes after the restart Simon Cooper gave the Chips the lead that Junior Kaffo extended 10 minutes from the end.
