Turkington targets swift turnaround

New Godalming Town manager Dan Turkington is hoping for third time lucky and a swift change in fortunes at the Ryman South's basement side in 2017.

After taking the helm as the successor to Dean Thomas in time for their remaining festive fixtures at home to Dorking Wanderers and Three Bridges on Bank Holiday Monday - a 5-0 loss followed by 3-1 reverse - former Sandhurst and Camberley Town boss Turkington, pictured, takes his new charges to Faversham Town on Saturday with The G's nine points adrift.

Appointed at the Surrey club in October as the successor to Andy Hunt after leaving Guildford City, Thomas left the Wey Court hot-seat on December 22 by mutual consent with development team manager Adam Root holding the fort before the appointment of Turkington on December 30.
