Up for the Cup(s)

By Ian Townsend

Our Cup Finals start this week. Get along and watch one!

It's approaching the end of the season, and the silver polish has been brought out of storage as we start with three Cup Finals.

First up, this week we have the Final of the Save The Children Youth League Cup. Metropolitan Police take on Camberley Town at Greatness Park, home of Sevenoaks Town. Met defeated Lewes in the Semi-Final, after earlier defeating Dorking Wanderers, Ashford United and Bedfont Sports, whilst Camberley disposed of Whytealeafe, Staines Town, Maidstone United and Potters Bar Town.

The match will kick off at 7.30 PM on Thursday 4th April.

Next we have the Final of the Velocity (Alan Turvey) Trophy, to be held at Aveley on Wednesday 10th April. AFC Hornchurch take on Enfield Town as the Towners Billy Bricknell looks to win it for the third season in a row- no Billy, you don't get to keep it if you win, you're not Brazil!

The Urchins got to the Final by defeating Bracknell Town, Whitstable Town, Chipstead and Basildon United, whilst Enfield disposed of Bishop's Stortford, Burgess Hill Town, Maldon & Tiptree, Ware and Canvey Island. Again, kick off will be at 7.30 PM.

Finally, on Wednesday 17th April we have the Final of the Women’s’ Cup sponsored by Reposs. This will also be played at Aveley, will also kick off at 7.30PM, and will feature Ashford Town and Leyton Orient.

Ashford defeated Charlton Athletic, Margate and Whyteleafe to reach the Final, whilst Orient defeated Enfield Town, Tonbridge Angels and Harlow Town.

All kick off at 7.30pm, extra time if required.
