Fans favourite and veteran striker Leroy Griffiths has left Grays Athletic.

The Ryman Premier club agreed to let the 37-year-old former Queens Park Rangers frontman go on Friday and thanked him for his services over three spells with the Blues.

Giffiths, pictured, kicked off his career in the youth ranks at Sutton United and played for a host of Non-League clubs after a two year spell at QPR between 2001-03. After loan spells at Farnborough Town and Margate, he joined Grays Athletic for the first time in 2005, scoring 28 times in 63 appearances.

He returned on loan two years later to score two more goals and had added three more since rejoining the club this year. He returned after turning out for clubs including Fisher Athletic, Aldershot Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Corinthian-Casuals, Lewes, Eastleigh, Staines Town, Sutton United, Thurrock, Harrow Borough, Leatherhead and Hereford United.

A Blues spokesman said: "The club would like to wish Leroy all the very best and thank him for his time at the club."
