Macclesfield Town 2-0 Dulwich Hamlet, FA Trophy Quarter Final Replay, 07/03/17 | Match Highlights

Highlights of Dulwich's 2-0 defeat against Macclesfield in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy. After a tremendous performance at Champion Hill ten days earlier, the Hamlet would ultimately be overpowered by their higher level opponents in the replay. Macclesfield came flying out the traps and created numerous chances in the early exchanges before they went ahead on 18 minutes. A long ball out to the right wing picked out Rhys Browne, who proceeded to dart towards the penalty area, before unleashing an unstoppable effort into the top corner. Two minutes later and the winger was on the scoresheet again, this time running at Michael Chambers before curling a shot into the far corner and give the visitors a mountain to climb. Undeterred, the Hamlet started to find their feet, and could easily have found a way back into the game had it not been for two outstanding saves from Silkmen keeper Scott Flinders, who denied Ibra Sekajja and Ashley Carew. The second half saw chances created for both sides, Luke Summerfield hitting the post for the hosts and Dumebi Dumaka glancing a header wide for Dulwich, but in the end Macclesfield were comfortable winners in the end, and will play Tranmere Rovers in the semis. For Dulwich, pride was the overriding emotion as the dust settled on the game, with just a second appearance at this stage in their history, and incredible memories made along the way.
