Wanderers announce fans forum

Meadowbank to throw open the doors to all- and a panel including manager Marc White will answer questions

Dorking Wanderers have invited supporters and other interested parties to the clubs first ever Fans Forum, to be held at Meadowbank on Thursday 19th January. Club Chairman/First Team Manager Marc White will head a panel of management, staff and players- and has confirmed that “the audience will be able to ask us anything. There’s nothing off limits.”

Since moving home from Westhumble to the new town centre stadium at Meadowbank, the club has seen average attendance at games more than double, as well as a record crowd of over 1500 fans at the recent Mole Valley derby with Leatherhead. With huge local interest in the progress the club is making on and off the field, the committee behind Dorking Wanderers is keen to engage with fans and other local people to share ideas, plans and ambitions for the future.

The Fans Forum will be held later this month and is planned as the first in a series of meetings to be held approximately twice yearly.

“It's fair to say that it's very much a work-in-progress," explained White. "We’re all still learning about how to make the most of the new facility and we’re keen to tap into the enthusiasm in the town, and hear people’s thoughts and ideas - what works, what we could be doing differently.”

As well as discussing Meadowbank, the panel will answer questions about the playing squad, tactics, player development, how the volunteer-led club is run, long term ambitions and any other aspect of Dorking’s football club.

The event will be held in The Healthy Kitchen lounge, and will start at 7pm. Those interested in attending are asked to email info@dorkingwanderers.comto reserve a place.
