Warm welcome and fond farewell

By David Watters

Senior Ryman League administrator Debbie Green will be back at her desk on Monday after returning from maternity leave.

While the football administrator can look forward to warm welcome back following the birth of her fifth child Jessica, her return spells the end of an 11 month spell as her temporary replacement at the Ryman League's HQ in Dartford for Richard Jennings.

Taken on last April on a temporary basis as maternity cover, he soon proved to be an able understudy and on Friday was thanked by Ryman League secretary Kellie Discipline on his last day for picking up the baton in the complex world of football administration and just as importantly, not dropping it!

The Ryman League secretary said: "We'll all be delighted to see Debbie back but very sorry to see Richard leave. Picking up work from somebody else and knowing your role is only temporary until they return can never be easy for anyone.

"He has worked really hard and will be missed by everyone here who've appreciated his efforts since he started. We all wish him the best of luck for the future and of course offer a warm welcome back to Debbie and look forward to seeing her again next week."

Mum Debbie and partner Graham are now the proud parents of Jessica, Jorga, Jake, Jadine and Jordan.
