Webster nets third manager's award!

By David Watters

Brightlingsea Regent's James Webster is leading the race to become the Ryman League's Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Year after winning his third monthly accolade of the 2016-17 campaign.

Webster, who's already collected his division's managerial laurels in November and again in January, was unveiled on Saturday alongside Steve McKimm at Tonbridge Angels and Tooting & Mitcham United's Frank Wilson as February's top bosses.

As well as being presented with inscribed glass trophies to record their achievements from Macron, the joint sponsors of the monthly awards and the league's official kit suppliers, the trio are now looking forward to being measured up for new suits by Nicholas Rowe Tailoring.

Like all winners over the last three seasons, they'll be able to choose from three colours and a wide range of designs at the long-established Surrey-based tailors’ 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill. While there's no restriction on the number of suits that can be won over the course of the campaign under the terms of a unique sponsorship deal in English football, joint bosses must win more than once with the monthly prize restricted to one suit per winning club.

Webster will be measured up for his third new suit after his Ryman North leaders kept up the form that won him his last, the Essex leaders romping to six straight wins and scoring 16 goals along the way to go six points clear at the top of the table before hosting Thurrock on Saturday.

Former Sutton United coach McKimm has been making his mark at the Longmead Stadium for the last two seasons. To win his first accolade for the Ryman League's managerial maestros in the top flight this term, McKimm guided his side to four wins and two draws in February and saw them score 12 goals to claim third spot before hosting Needham Market in Kent on Saturday.

Tooting & Mitcham United manager Frank Wilson and his Terrors are on a record-breaking ten game winning run to lead the Ryman South table by three points heading to the weekend's action. Already a legend at the Terrors having guided the south Londoners to glory previously, the veteran manager masterminded five straight wins in February to collect his first accolade of the season and keep the club on course for a return to the Ryman League's top flight.
