A goal 11 minutes from time against promotion chasing Dulwich Hamlet earned struggling Lewes a 1-0 win and three crucial points at the Dripping Pan on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
In a game of few chances, the Rooks dominated the early encounters without being able to create any clear cut chances either side of the break. Hamlet had the best chance in the 70th minute when Kevin James just failed to connect with a Michael Abnett cross driven low across the six-yard box with the goal gaping.
The Rooks struck nine minutes later when a ball into the box from the right saw Elliott Romain divert it past Phil Wilson and despite pushing forward in numbers, the visitors couldn't rescue a point.
