Wednesday's Ryman Premier review

By David Watters

Ryman League Premier Division

Lewes moved to within two points of a top five place in the Ryman Premier's tale after cruising to a comfortable 4-1 win at the Dripping Pan against second-bottom Cray Wanderers on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

In front of a decent crowd of 355, Steve Brinkhurst gave the Rooks a 31st minute lead that Jay Lovett doubled three minutes before half-time. Veteran 35-year-old former Crawley Town and Farnborough centre-back Lovett – on as a 22nd minute substitute – added his second and Lewes' third nine minutes into the second half.

Dan Smith eventually added a fourth in the last minute, with Jack Clark netting a stoppage time consolation effort for the Wands.
