Wednesday's Ryman South action review

By David Watters

Ryman League South Division

Leatherhead moved into second place in the Ryman South table on Wednesday night, but had to be content with a point from a 3-3 draw at Fetcham Grove against neighbours Walton & Hersham, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

After conceding a goal inside three minutes to the Swans' Samad Kazi, the Tanners looked to be heading for victory as goals from Tom Bradbrook after 33 minutes, Kev Terry on 54 and Jamie Coyle two minutes later put them 3-1 up. But Will Turl reduced the deficit with 12 minutes to go and then Steve Ward equalised with six minutes left to play.

Guernsey FC moved up to fourth in the table with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Chipstead at Footes Lane. Ross Allen grabbed the only goal of the game in the 56th minute with Chipstead reduced to ten-men when Jack Guilford was sent-off for two bookable offences. Allen went on to miss a penalty, but the home side, watched by another excellent crowd of 1,031, completed a sixth straight win in all competitions.
