Witham finally get the better of the Seed Growers

By Ian Townsend

A Trophy victory...and the Under 10's take a starring role

Witham Town must have been sick of the sight of their neighbours from Coggeshall. Three times they had met in little more than a month, and the side from the Village Glass Stadium were yet to register a victory. But last night that changed, and- despite Coggeshall pressure- it was Witham who took the spoils, a goal in the 77th minute which was originally given to L’Heureux Menga but later credited to Danny Norton taking them through to the next round of the FA Trophy at their neighbours expense.

The real winners of the night, however, were probably the Witham Town Under 10's. Witham have a tradition of getting a youth side to be guests of honour and having their photographs taken with the opposition before a game, so here are the Spa Road stars of tomorrow with the Coggeshall first team!

The headline photograph is two club secretaries, Coggeshall Town's Secretary Peter Smith presenting a pennant to Witham Match Secretary Mark A Bundock, and was taken by Jim Purtill.
