Ryman Youth League Lucas Fettes Cup

Sutton United’s young stars lifted the Lucas Fettes Cup for the second time in three years on Tuesday night to complete a campaign treble with a 3-1 victory over Potters Bar Town.

Having already won the Ryman Youth League Central Division and Surrey U18s Midweek Floodlit Cup this season, Sutton were celebrating again, pictured, after strikes from Ayman El-Mogharbel, Emil Salama and leading scorer Ollie Sitch who finishes their campaign with 36 goals.

United won the competition for the first time in 2012 with a 3-0 victory over Brentwood Town but were beaten finalists last season when they lost 1-0 to Staines Town at Wheatsheaf Park.

Both sides reached this season’s showpiece final the hard way after needing penalty shoot-out wins in their respective semi-finals.

The cup’s winners are managed by James Bracken and overcame Burgess Hill Town at their Green Elephants Stadium while the losing finalists who are managed by John Gibbs beat Worthing away on spot-kicks at Woodside Road.
