2021-22 Supporters Predictions- revisited: South Central

The reason that bookmakers are universally wealthy is that picking the outcome of sporting competitions is rather difficult, and each season our supporters tend to prove that when they predict the outcome of the campaign about to start.

Time to compare and contrast, with the Pitching In Isthmian South Central up next.

You started rather well, predicting our two promoted clubs in first and second (although Hanwell Town were actually fourth, not that it matters now!), and indeed you were nearly right about Chertsey Town, one place out for Basingstoke Town and two places out for Marlow.

You absolutely didn’t foresee the success of Bedfont Sports, and your expectations of Tooting & Mitcham United turned out to be entirely unrealistic, although perhaps unsurprising at the time. You were also quite a way out when it came to Uxbridge, who turned out to be the play off bridesmaids rather than relegation candidates.

You were almost right for Binfield’s debut season, and not too far away with Chipstead’s finish, but you had much better plans for Staines Town than the season actually delivered.
Your predictions of Chalfont St Peter’s relegation were accurate, and you were bang on the money when predicting that Sutton Common Rovers would finish in seventeenth. You also weren’t far off when predicting the final places of Thatcham Town, Ashford Town and Guernsey.

All in all, you did rather a good job! Whether our South Central Division was easier to predict, or our supporters are just more knowledgeable about its sides, we’ll just have to speculate!
