A Bay trio

By Ian Townsend

Sam German, Mo Kamara and Tom Hanfrey are new at Herne Bay

Herne Bay yesterday announced a triple signing swoop.

Sam German comes in on loan from Bromley. This isn't Sam's first Pitching In Isthmian South East experience, as the defender spent time at Ashford United in the latter stages of last season, where he made six appearances.

Mo Kamara started last season with Potters Bar Town, playing twenty six times, and more recently has been with Faversham Town.

He ended the 21-22 season with Ashford United, playing eight times, and indeed started their Play Off Final defeat against... Herne Bay. Previously a Bay player, he also spent time at Margate, for whom he played eight times in the early part of 21-22. He spent the middle part of the same season with Whitehawk, playing twenty two times.

Mo has now had three spells with the Nuts and Bolts, and two with Bay, so this will be the third!. He has also played for Molesey and for Greenwich Borough.

Defender Tom Hanfrey was announced as a new arrival at Carshalton Athletic in the summer. He spent some of last season at Sittingbourne in Pitching In Isthmian South East, joining the Brickies in January after a spell at Sheppey United, and previously played for FC Romania.

Tom was at Cray Wanderers during the 21-22 campaign, signing in September 2021 and going on to make twenty eight appearances for the Pitching In Isthmian Premier side.

He is primarily a left back- although versatile- who came through the Academy, Under 18's and Under 21's at Bournemouth before signing on for Concord Rangers and then Tonbridge Angels in National League South. He made his Angels debut during the 20-21 campaign but played very few matches before the pandemic kicked in. He previously played on loan for Poole Town, Farnborough and Blackfield & Langley.
