A Bees Quartet

By Ian Townsend

David Agyemang, Charne Lemba, Ben Lane and Makai Welch are new at Basildon United

We're catching up on the remaining transfers which were announced prior to last week's deadline day. There were quite a number, and with the amount of football we had over the Easter weekend we're a little behind!

Basildon United had a rather hectic deadline day.

Full back David Agyemang came in on loan from Leyton Orient. He plays for the O's Under 18 side, and was on the bench for the Bees Easter Monday defeat at New Salamis. He is a second year Scholar.

Midfielder Makai Welch also joins on loan from Orient, and is also a second year Scholar. Makai's form this season has seen him called up to the Jamaican Under 20 team, and he made his debut for the Reggae Boyz in a one-nil win over Martinique in the CONCACAF U20 Championship. He featured for the O's first team in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy earlier this season, and made his Bees debut from the bench on Monday.

Goalkeeper Ben Lane will perhaps be delighted to have missed Monday's match after coming in on a dual registration deal from Essex Senior League side Buckhurst Hill Town. Ben isn't new to the North Division, he ended last season with Witham Town, making eight appearances, and has also spent time with Barking in the Essex Senior League this season, making seven appearances.

Finally Charne Lemba, who also made his debut from the bench on Monday, steps down from Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Haringey Borough. Defender Charne was with Borough during the 21-22 campaign, playing ten times, and played a couple of times last season, too, before returning to the club at the start of February- since when he has played three times.

When he hasn't been with Borough he's mainly been with tenants New Salamis, a big part of their promotion season and playing eighteen times last season, too, after returning from a spell at FC Romania. He has also spent time with Hadley and Cockfosters.
