A Blue Day for Becks

By Ian Townsend

Beckenham Town keeper Nick Blue announces his retirement- and will play his last home match on Saturday

Pitching In Isthmian South East side Beckenham Town have confirmed that goalkeeper Nick Blue will be retiring from the game at the end of this season- which means that his last home match for the club will be Saturday's must-win fixture against Horndean.

We've attached Nick's retirement statement as an image, as you will see, but we'd like to pay tribute to a keeper who has had stellar Isthmian career. A South East title winner with Cray Wanderers in 2018-19 (pictured), when he made forty appearances and delivered fifteen clean sheets, he was also a North title winner with VCD Athletic in 2013-14. He went on to win promotion to our level with Becks, and of course was a big part of their run to the Play Off Semi Final last season.

Thank you for all of your fine service to our clubs, Nick. Have a fabulous retirement, and perhaps we'll see you back in a coaching or managerial role soon.
