A Friday night Friendly Round up

By Ian Townsend

We had a handful of friendly matches last night. Here's what happened.

Today our friendly football starts in earnest, with supporters present- albeit in rather restricted numbers. But we also had a handful of matches last night, so here's what we know.

Aveley travelled to Needham Market, formerly of our Premier Division but these days in the Southern League. The Millers put up a fight but went down by two goals to one. Manny Ogunrinde scored the consolation, his third in three pre-season matches.

A youthful Enfield Town side hosted Hertford Town, and the visitors left with the plaudits after a three-one victory. We can't tell you who scored any of the goals.

Bognor Regis Town travelled to Horndean and recorded a three-nil victory. Sadly trialist Siph Mdlalose suffered a serious injury ten minutes in, rather overshadowing the goals from Jason Parish, Ashton Leigh and Will Stone. Read a match report from the Bognor Observer here.

Staines Town drew two-two at Colliers Wood United. Will Efambe and Sebastien Osei-Obengo scored the Swans goals.

Lots of our clubs are playing today, and we're sure you'd like to go and watch, but we'd suggest that you visit their social media feeds and websites before you set off. They all have limited capacities and a number of rules which you will need to adhere to, and some of them have seen their matches already sell out (Hastings United and Carshalton Athletic have already put up the Ground Full signs). Please check before you travel and don't be caught out- but have a fabulous time if you're lucky enough to get to a game.

Where next?

A Supporter Friendly Saturday! We had football! We had fans! It was...well, not normal exactly, but at least a step in the right direction. Here's what happened.
