A Friendly round up: 12th July 2022

Lots of our sides were in pre-season action yesterday. Here’s what happened.


Abbey Rangers hosted Herne Bay, and our new Pitching Isthmian Premier side left with a three-two win, courtesy of Kamani Thomas, Zak Ansah and Aaron Millbank.

Ashford Utd defeated Eastbourne Utd by three goals to nil. Ramadan, Ter Horst and a trialist scored for the nuts and bolts.

Aveley hosted Grays Athletic, and it was the ‘visitors’ who left with the victory, winning two-one. We know that Sam Bantick scored one of the goals for Athletic, but that’s all we can tell you!

Basingstoke Town defeated Whitchurch by five goals to one. Reid, Toure and Wilson were amongst the scorers.

Bowers and Pitsea defeated Tilbury two-nil. Stephen Okoh and Dexter Peter were on target.

Brantham Athletic welcomed Maldon & Tiptree, and the Jammers won four-one, with a hat trick from a trialist.

Bury Town defeated Thetford Town three-one, with two goals from Cemal Ramadan and one from Max Maughn.

Canvey Island hosted Southend United, and the visitors scored seven without reply.

Chatham Town matched Ebbsfleet Utd for most of the match, but lost by its only goal.

Corinthian fell one-nil against Tonbridge Angels.

Cray Valley PM and Stansfield played out a two-all draw.

East Preston welcomed Lancing, who won by three goals to nil.

East Thurrock United fell four-nil to Concord Rangers.

Enfield Town took on a Tottenham Hotspur U21 side, and emerged victorious, winning three-two. Youngs scored twice for the Towners, Cunnington got the other.

Margate defeated Faversham Town three-one. Oluwasemo and Trialists scored for the Blues, after Cox gave the Lilywhites the lead.

Met Police defeated Kingstonian by three goals to one- although the K’s used twenty two players! Bombelenga scored for the side in hoops.

Northwood fell to the only goal of the game against Chesham Utd.

Phoenix Sports and Beckenham Town drew one-one. Brissett scored for Town.

Potters Bar Town defeated Leyton Orient two-nil. Lewis Manor was one of the two players on the scoresheet.

Punjab Utd and Lewes couldn’t manage a goal between them.

Rusthall and Haywards Heath Town drew two-two. Dean Gunner scored both goals for Heath.

Sheppey United defeated Larkfield and New Hythe by three goals to one. Bennett, Jefferson and Lambert scored for the visitors.

Spelthorne Sports hosted Ashford Town, and the visitors won by three goals to nil.

Steyning Town welcomed Burgess Hill Town, and the Hillians left with a four-nil win. Duah-Kessie and a couple of trialists netted for the Hillians. Our image is from the end of that match, and comes from Chris Neal- see more of them here.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd hosted Raynes Park Vale, the visitors winning three-one.

VCD Athletic welcomed Ilford, and the Essex side won two-nil.
West Essex hosted New Salamis, and the match ended in a two-two draw. Derek Asamoah was amongst the scorers.

Wingate & Finchley hosted Barnet, and fell to a five-one defeat. Joe Dearman got the one.
