A Friendly Round Up- 7/8th December 2020

By Ian Townsend

As well as the FA Trophy, a number of our clubs have played friendly matches this week. Here's a quick round up.

On Monday, Basildon United entertained League Leaders Worthing at Parkside- and following their win over Cray Wanderers at the weekend the Bees came close to a second scalp, as they held the Mackerel Men two-two. Samuel Jeremiah and Matt Bentley scored for the Bees, Ricky Aguiar and Mo Diallo scored equalisers for the visitors.

Now, onto last night.

Westfield drew three-all at Abbey Rangers, scorers unknown, whilst Bowers & Pitsea walloped Grays Athletic seven-one with goals from Max Cornhill, Bradley Sach (2), Chinedu McKenzie (2), George Purcell and Luca Albon. We don't know who scored for the visitors.

We've no idea what happened between Burnham and Northwood, and Dereham Town v Mulbarton Wanderers was abandoned due to freezing fog, but Farnborough defeated East Grinstead Town three-one, scorer unknown.

Hanwell Town and Aylesbury United ended one-one, Nzala for the Geordies, whilst Hartley Wintney defeated Merstham two-nil.

Heybridge Swifts fell three-nil at home to Brightlingsea Regent, Jamie Bennett, Lewis Byrne-Hewitt and Jake Clowsley the scorers, whilst we've no idea what happened when Hoddesdon Town took on Ware.

Horsham defeated South Park six-one, with goals from Dsane, Harding, Adam (2), Dudley and Lavery. We don't know who got the Sparks consolation.

Reading City and Ashford Town played out a goalless draw, whilst Kingstonian got five at Staines Town, without reply- Buchanan (2), Andrews (2) and Howard with the goals.

Finally, Three Bridges defeated Tooting and Mitcham United three-one. We've no idea who scored.
