A friendly round up- Saturday 3rd July 2021

By Ian Townsend

Here- so far as we know- is what happened across our pre-season friendlies this afternoon

Keeping track of pre-season friendlies is not an exact science, so this round up is made up of detail we got from trawling social media. If we missed anything, please feel free to let us know.

Basildon United won two-nil at Ware, scorers unknown- and if we don’t mention scorers throughout, the same is true.

Basingstoke Town defeated North Greenford United by NINE goals to two, whilst Binfield lost two-one at Berks County.

Bowers and Pitsea hosted our North Division new boys Hashtag United, and it was those social media darlings who ran out the winners, two-one. Sam Bantick got the Hashtag winner from the spot, as they came from behind to take victory. Either Brad Sac or Ade Osifuwa opened the scoring for Bowers (if they don’t know then we have no chance), and O'Rawe got the Tags equaliser.

You can watch the entire match again below:

Bracknell Town defeated Hartley Wintney four-one with goals from Joe Grant (2), Temi Eweka & George Knight.

Carshalton Athletic defeated Walton Casuals three-one with goals from Bassett, Ansah and Kapica, whilst Cheshunt played on Thursday night and drew 2-2 with Fisher.

Chertsey Town defeated Walton and Hersham four-one on Friday evening, whilst Chipstead travelled to Tonbridge Angels this afternoon and fell to a three-nil defeat.

Coggeshall Town defeated Coggeshall United five-two, scorers including a certain Olly Murs! Shaw, Grimes and Coley were amongst the other scorers.

Corinthian defeated Erith & Belvedere by two goals to one.
Corinthian-Casuals won two-one at Guildford City, whilst Folkestone Invicta defeated Welling United three-one, David Smith, Alfie Paxman and Ian Draycott with the goals. We think that Romford won two-one at Haringey Borough, but we’re not entirely sure! Kingstonian lost one-nil at Dorking Wanderers.

Faversham Town drew one-one at Holmesdale, Luis Dos Santos with the goal.

Felixstowe and Walton United defeated a Dan Davis XI three-one,
Hanwell Town won five-two at Welwyn Garden City, whilst Hythe Town lost three-nil at Deal Town.

Leatherhead defeated their own Under 23’s by six goals to nil, whilst Lewes won four-nil at another Isthmian new boy, Lancing. Congratulations to Dave Sharman on his four hundredth Lancing appearance.

Marlow won six-two at Aldermaston, Nwachuku, Holder-Spooner, Majekodunmi, Morrison and John with the goals, according to Twitter (blue tick makes it accurate!), whilst Phoenix Sports won four-nil at Erith Town.

Sutton Common Rovers drew one-all at Uckfield, with a goal from Tyrell Butler, whilst Staines Town had a similar result against Farnborough. Another draw came in the match between Tooting and Mitcham United and Tooting Bec, but that one was goalless.

Three Bridges and Grays Athletic drew one-one. Joseph Agunbiade scored for Grays,

Westfield lost four-one at Hayes & Yeading United, whilst Splatt and Munt scored for Whitehawk as they defeated Peacehaven and Telscombe by two goals to one.
