A Friendly Round Up- Wednesday 26th August 2020

By Ian Townsend

Here's what happened to our clubs in their friendly fixtures last night

We had a collection of Wednesday night pre-season friendlies, so here's a round up- which isn't an exact science as we're relying on the wonders of social media!

Bognor Regis Town travelled to East Preston and scored six, whilst conceding none! Our image above, from Tommy McMillan, shows one of the goals hitting the back of the net- and the six were scored by Stone (2), Lis (2), Lethbridge and Mendoza. The line up was:

Seymour Crane Leigh Robb Cook Wood Rowe Mendoza Lis Leigh Lethbridge; SUBS: Whyte Davies Stone Baker

Brentwood Town defeated Stansted two-nil, but we don't know who got the two, whilst Merstham fell one-nil at home to South Park, again, we don't know who got it.

Hastings United won three-nil at Littlehampton Town. Pope, Dawes and Capon got the goals for the visitors, and we've included their graphic of their line up so you can see who played.

Cray Wanderers travelled to VCD Athletic, and the visitors won by four goals to two. Freddie Parker got three and a trialist the other for the Wands, whilst Vines got one for Vickers and we're not sure about the other- there's a report here.

Bury Town defeated Mildenhall Town by three goals to nil, Ollie Hughes and Cruise Nyadzayo- with two- finding the back of the Hall net.

Histon left Thetford Town- home of Dad's Army- with a two-two draw. Max York and a trialist got their goals.

An experimental Cambridge City line up fell six-nil to Peterborough Sports.

And just to confirm, despite seventeen thousand tweets to the contrary, none of our clubs have succeeded in signing Messi- unless they are being very tardy with the paperwork.
