A Nuts and Bolts trio

Sawyer, Uwezu and Brown join from South East rivals

Ashford United have agreed the signings of Ryan Sawyer, Michael Uwezu and Alex Brown.

Defender Ryan comes in from fellow Pitching In Isthmian South East side Corinthian, where he was imperious last season as his side had a very strong first Isthmian campaign.

Corinthian conceded only thirty nine goals last season- far fewer than the Nuts and Bolts, who finished second, Cray Valley PM, who finished fifth, and Ramsgate, who were sixth. Ryan made thirty nine appearances- and also weighed in with three goals. Read more about his arrival here.

Michael Uwezu comes in from Burgess Hill Town. The forward scored seven times in twenty seven matches last season, including in the Hillians win over the Nuts and Bolts last December. He began his career as a youth at Arsenal and Fulham, and has played for Lincoln City, Dulwich Hamlet, Northampton Town, Forest Green Rovers and Thamesmead Town, as well as spending a couple of seasons playing in Sweden. He also played for East Grinstead Town. Read more here.

Alex Brown travels up from Hythe Town. The midfielder was a Gillingham youth who made his mark with Maidstone United and Dartford, but also played for Leatherhead and Margate before becoming a Cannon. He made thirty four appearances last season, and scored five goals.
