A pair of Gulls

By Ian Townsend

Tobi Tinubu and Mason Hall promise not to steal your chips as they sign on at Canvey Island

Canvey Island have confirmed a pair of signings for the forthcoming season, one of whom Gulls fans will know already.

Tobi Tinubu comes in from Tower Hamlets, of the Southern Counties East Premier Division. He made fourteen appearances last season before the campaign came to another early end, and can apparently play in midfield or as a wing back.

Centre back Mason made seven Gulls appearances last season, including playing in five matches in their famous FA Cup run, right up to the Second Round. He spent part of 2019-20 with fellow North Division side Heybridge Swifts, managing fourteen appearances in black and white before the campaign came to a sudden halt, after joining from Wingate and Finchley, where he had played seven times.

He was previously with Leyton Orient, and spent a short time on loan with Greenwich Borough.
