A Saturday friendly round up

By Ian Townsend

Some of our sides start playing competitive football next weekend, so here’s what happened on the last entirely pre-season Saturday

Our round up is entirely reliant on social media, so apologies for any errors!

AFC Sudbury welcomed Waltham Abbey, and we believe the final score was SEVEN-two to the Yellows! Goals included a hat trick for Josh Stokes, with Josh Mayhew, Joe Grimwood, Nnamdi Nwachuku and Reece Harris the other scorers.

AFC Totton and Basingstoke Town played out a one-one draw, whilst Ascot United defeated South Park Reigate one-nil.

Aveley welcomed Royston Town and lost two-one, whilst the Millers Premier rivals Cray Wanderers travelled to Beckenham Town and lost three-one. Tom Derry was the Wands scorer, we don’t know who scored for Town- or more to the point we can’t decipher ‘King Louie, Fredinho and The Smiling Assassin!’

Billericay Town defeated Brentwood Town six-two, with Stevenson, Ekpiteta, Ufuah, Bancroft (2) and Cumberbatch scoring for the home Blues, away scorers unknown.

Bishop's Stortford fell four-one against Peterborough Sports, with Merrifield scoring the one, whilst Southall defeated Broadfields Utd five-one.

Bury Town welcomed Cambridge City and lost three-two, Barker and Ramadan with the goals, whilst Canvey Island won one-nil against Dartford.

Chatham Town welcomed Bromley and recorded an impressive five-three win, Prince Domafriyie continuing his impressive pre-season goal glut, Bradshaw (2), Everett and Ogunseye also on the scoresheet, whilst we believe that Chertsey Town defeated Carshalton Athletic three-nil- at least that was the final score update we can find! Montague (2) and Day scored for the Curfews.

Corinthian hosted Corinthian-Casuals, the visitors- we believe- winning four-nil, and Cray Valley PM fell three-one against Welling United, with a goal from the ubiquitous A. Trialist.

Eastbourne Borough defeated East Grinstead Town three-one, whilst Ebbsfleet United defeated Herne Bay five-one, with Thomas scoring for Bay.

Egham Town welcomed Uxbridge, the visitors winning two-one with goals from Jackson and Beadle, whilst Faversham Town drew one-one with Faversham Strike Force.

Folkestone Invicta defeated Dover Athletic one-nil, Scott Heard with the goal, whilst Grays Athletic continued their fine pre-season, defeating local rivals Tilbury two-one. Sam Bantick described himself as the worst player on the pitch (on social media), but he did what he does best and scored both Grays goals. Clark scored for the Dockers.

Guernsey fell three-nil against Hartley Wintney, whilst Haringey Borough and Hendon drew one-one, Odeku scoring for Borough.

Hashtag United defeated Harlow Town three-one, Teniola and Banks scoring for the Tags, our headline image coming from Nashy Photo.

Down by Heathrow Hayes & Yeading Utd were three-two winners against Enfield Town. Wyllie and Tavares scored for the Towners.

Horley Town hosted Sutton Common Rovers, the visitors winning three-one, Akmel with two and Creed with the other, whilst Hornchurch fell four-two against St Ives Town, Nash with the Urchins goals.

Hythe Town welcomed Bowers & Pitsea, the visitors winning two-one, and the visitors also won at
Lancing, Hastings United departing with a three-nil victory. Scott, Chalmers and O’Mara with the second half goals.

Leatherhead hosted Kingstonian once more, the visitors winning four-one, Cadogen (2), Ajuchi and Ntim with the K’s goals, whilst Brightlingsea Regent’s positive pre-season continued as Sotoyinbo scored the goal to give them victory at Leiston.

Long Stratton defeated Gorleston three-two, Finch and North with the Gorleston goals, whilst
Lowestoft Town fell five-nil at Kings Lynn Town.

Maldon & Tiptree lost three-nil to Braintree Town, whilst Margate hosted Ramsgate, the Rams emerging triumphant, winning two-one. Bessey-Saldana scored for the hosts, we’ve no idea who scored for the visitors.

Merstham defeated Colliers Wood United three-two, scorers unknown, whilst Thatcham Town drew one-one with FC Aldermaston.

Sevenoaks Town continued their fine pre-season, defeating Lewes two-one.

Three Bridges welcomed Chipstead, the Chips running our four-two winners, Grant and Dixon amongst the scorers for the visitors. Whitehawk drew two-two with National League Eastleigh, O’Toole and a trialist scoring for the Hawks, and in North London Wingate & Finchley and Tonbridge Angels managed a goal each.

Wroxham defeated Dussindale and Hellesdon Rovers six-one, and we’ll be watching the Yachtsmen in FA Cup action next Friday night.
