A Stowmarket trio

By Ian Townsend

Town add Tommy Smith, Natty Stewart and Luke Hipkin

Stowmarket Town have announced the permanent return to the club of former Ipswich Town loanee Tommy Smith.

The full back came through the Academy at Portman Road, and did make the first team squad in the EFL Cup, but has now left the Tractor Boys and signed permanently for Stow. He made eight appearances for the club at the end of last season, culminating in the Play Off Semi-Final defeat against Brentwood Town.

Natty Stewart moves over from Mildenhall Town, an attacker who scored ten goals in twenty four appearances last season. He previously played for King's Lynn Town, Norwich United and Wroxham.

Luke Hipkin was with AFC Sudbury, and perhaps is a straight swap for the Town players who have moved in the opposite direction! Luke was part of the Yellows Academy, and then graduated to the first team, where he played sixteen times last season. He scored on his debut against Aveley, and then got the winner as his side slayed the giants of Cheshunt in the FA Cup.
