A Stowmarket trio

By Ian Townsend

Marley Delgado, Bobby Bell and George Day are new at Stow

We're catching up on the remaining transfers which were announced prior to last week's deadline day. There were quite a number, and with the amount of football we had over the Easter weekend we're a little behind!

Stowmarket Town announced three new arrivals prior to Saturday's defeat against Redbridge, and each of them made a debut over the Easter weekend.

Marley Delgado, a midfielder, came in on loan from National League North side Kings Lynn Town. He signed for the Linnets in the summer after impressing on trial, and learned his craft as part of the Lowestoft Town Academy, where he was also occasionally part of the first team squad. He also played Under 18 football for Lakenheath.

Bobby Bell, a right back, we know little about- although Stow tell us that he joined them from Haughley United in the Suffolk and Ipswich League, and the FA website tells us that he played twenty four times this season. Stow also tell us that he's twenty years old, a student, and a Liverpool supporter- but we won't hold the last of those facts against him, well, not much!

Centre Back George Day comes in from Cornard United, where he has been- mostly- since the start of the 22-23 campaign. He moved to United from Long Melford, and has already made twenty eight appearances this season, scoring a rather impressive eight goals (although Long Melford's website still has him recorded as a striker, who perhaps he's multi-functional). He's already spent a little time in the Pitching In isthmian North Division this season, playing for Ipswich Wanderers three times during September.
