A Supporter Friendly Saturday!

By Ian Townsend

We had football! We had fans! It was...well, not normal exactly, but at least a step in the right direction. Here's what happened.

For the first time in more than five months, we had football in front of fans. Here's a round up- probably not entirely comprehensive since we're relying on social media- of what happened on the pitch. In no particular order!

Haywards Heath Town played not once, but twice! In their match against Worthing at Culver Road Andrew Dalhouse got a goal, but Worthing got three. Tom Chalaye got one of those, we're not sure who got the other two. Dalhouse also scored in the earlier match, against Hassocks, and Nico Cotton got the other in a two-one win. Our headline image, courtesy of Royston White, shows both sides at The Beacon in silent tribute to Heath- and Sussex football- photographer Grahame Lehkyj, who was sadly lost to us this week. He'll be much missed, and much mourned.

Romford won one-nil at Saffron Walden Town. Goalscorer unknown.

Kingstonian entertained Crystal Palace Under 23's, and fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat. Images from Simon Roe can be found here.

Hullbridge Sports travelled to play Southend United, and fell to a respectable three-nil defeat against the big boys.

Wingate and Finchley defeated AFC Stoneham seven-one. No scorer information is available.

VCD Athletic traveled to Lordswood, and had an enjoyable afternoon, winning four-nil. Paul Vines got two of them, Malachi Hudson and Daryl Mills the others.

Folkestone Invicta travelled to Hastings United, and took some travelling support- who you can see in the photograph we've borrowed from the Invicta Twitter feed! Their team won the match by one goal to nil, Ian Draycott getting the goal.

Brightlingsea Regent defeated Coggeshall United by three goals to one, Jack Mahon, Chris Oti and Jake Clowsley finding the net.

Margate hosted Ramsgate and defeated their local rivals by three goals to two. Evans (2) and Prestedge scored for Gate, Chapman and Miller for the Rams.

Chichester City found the back of the Selsey net five times. Kaleem Haitham got two, Josh Clack, Ryan Penny and Lloyd Rowlatt the others.

Corinthian-Casuals took the High Road to Chipstead and the two sides cancelled each other out- eventually- drawing two-two. No goalscorer news is available.

Bracknell Town hosted Slough Town, and put their higher-ranked opponents to the sword, winning four-nil. Again, we've no idea who scored!

Chalfont St Peter fans saw a goal by Ricardo Alexander-Greenaway, but sadly opponents Hendon got two.

Brentwood Town and Waltham Abbey got eight goals between them, the hosts with five. Sam Bantick got a hat trick for Town, Clark got two for the Abbotts, and that's the extend of our knowledge.

Hanwell Town entertained Brentford- that's the Championship side this time, not our friends from Essex- and defeated the Bees Bee team (see what we did there) by three goals to two.

Potters Bar Town travelled to Biggleswade United, and goals from Cochrane, Pascal and Constantinou (2) saw them win four-one.

South Park went to SCEFL side Corinthian and fell to a three-one defeat.

Grays Athletic hosted Enfield Town. Mitch Hahn scored for the hosts, but the Towners got three. Okojie and Trialists scored for the visitors.

Tilbury travelled to face Hollands and Blair, where Johnny Coyte and Ayub Kadiri gave them a two-nil victory.

Bishop's Stortford fell to a four-one home defeat against Peterborough Sports. Johnson scored for the Blues.

Tooting and Mitcham United defeated Three Bridges by three goals to two. The Terrors awarded their goals to Adjei, Phillips and Waters, and we've no idea who scored for Bridges.

Coggeshall Town travelled to Frentford and won five-nil. Goalscorer unknown.

Whitehawk won by two goals to nil at Newhaven. Fraser and Shooman scored for the Hawks.

Ollie Rowe got the only goal as Whitstable Town defeated Cray Wanderers.

Joe Denny was on target for Faversham Town as they won one-nil at Sutton Athletic, whilst Ryan Gondoh scored for Whyteleafe in a one-one draw with AFC Croydon Athletic.

Cambridge City saw Ryan Sharman score the only goal of the game against Ely City, whilst Soham Town Rangers got eight against Cherry Hinton, which sounds rather like a soft drink. J. Andrews (4), Russell, T. Andrews, Mason and Kaye were the scorers.

Rob O'Toole broke through a line of Metropolitan policemen to score the only goal of Horsham's win at Imber Court.

Dereham Town and Gorleston drew two-two, with goals from Gagen and Linford.

East Thurrock United hosted Maldon and Tiptree, and Alfie Cue got the only goal of the game.

Ashford Town won two-one at Thatcham Town, with goals from Burnham and Humphreys, whilst Felixstowe and Walton United lost by four goals to one at home to Leiston, no scorer details available.

Uxbridge fell to a three-two defeat against Hayes and Yeading United. Bunting and a trials scored for the reds.

Herne Bay defeated SC Thamesmead by the odd goal in seven, with Campbell, Walters, Ansah (2) getting the goals.

Marku and Collis found the net for Harlow Town in their two-one win over Stansted, whilst Canvey Island lost one-nil to neighbours Concord Rangers.

Leatherhead defeated Epsom and Ewell by four goals to nil. Great Evans (2), Charlie Hester-Cook, and Craig McGee got the Tanners goals.

Lewes went down four-one against Tonbridge Angels. Cosgrave hit the target for the Rooks.

Northwood won three-nil at Harefield United, with goals from Isaac and Smith (2), whilst Basildon United played out a goalless draw at Harwich.

And that's your lot- unless we've missed something (you can be sure of that).

Where next?
