A Swifts quartet

Prior to yesterday's match with Dereham Town, Heybridge Swifts announced four signings

Yesterday wasn't a good day for Heybridge Swifts fans, with a three-nil home defeat to Dereham Town that included two own goals- but it started well enough, as the club announced four new arrivals, three of whom got to play a part in the match.

Striker Jay Nash came in from Basildon United, where he had only been since July. He started out at Dagenham and Redbridge and has also turned out for Great Wakering Rovers, Grays Athletic and Romford. He finished last season at Catholic United FC in the Essex Olympian League Premier Division. He'd made four appearances for the Bees during this campaign.

Midfielder Ben Search came in from Concord Rangers on loan, and was the only one of the quartet not to get some game time yesterday. Ben came through the youth sides at Rangers, and has played a few times for the first team.

Winger Ernest Okoh played for Basildon United and Canvey Island last season. He made twenty six appearances for the Bees, scoring nine goals- including a period when he scored in eight successive games, from the win over Chesham United in the FA Trophy on October 26th through to victory over Brentwood Town on November 30th. He went on to make eight appearances for the Gulls, but didn't find the net.

He spent some of the 2018-19 season with Romford, making thirteen appearances, and he previously played for Faversham Town, Waltham Abbey, Barking and Hayes & Yeading United. He started his career at Arsenal.

Finally, Delio Tosoni returned to the club. The midfielder made sixteen appearances last season after moving to the UK from France, where he turned out for Puteaux CS Municipal (Paris). He spent some of last season on loan at Witham Town, playing four times.
